Diversity is also a strength of the Allround Team. That’s why the topic fit into our ranks like no other. Fabienne has been fighting for “otherness” for years. As an Ethiopian who grew up speaking six languages, she is increasingly demonstrating that different cultural backgrounds are no reason for exclusion. Her commitment has also led to social engagements, including at the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Charta der Vielfalt and the German Diabetes Aids Gala. She was also able to contribute her input to a valuable campaign in the various workshops and moderated the 20 or so people through various themed evenings.
Cologne’s population groups – regardless of their gender and age, disability, religion, ethnicity and skin color as well as sexual identity and diversity of life – developed a campaign that focuses on what everyone has in common. After the first workshop it was already clear that all Cologne residents could identify 100% with their hometown of Cologne. So why not integrate the city of Cologne into the poster campaign as a unifying motif? And what stands more for Cologne than the cathedral? The background motif for the five poster motifs, which puts a park bench in the foreground, was quickly found. Different people from Cologne who had entered into a dialogue with each other were photographed on this park bench. The captured images should appear natural and not staged.
Everyone had a lot of fun taking part in the shoot and thus participating in the campaign. The naturalness and also the joy that reigns on the set are reflected in the selected campaign images. It was incredibly nice to see how everyone involved warmed up to each other. Everyone was able to exploit their diversity and great strengths and were therefore an important part of the successful campaign, which sent a clear signal for the city of Cologne.
